Folate panel (Predisposition for cardiovascular diseases, spontaneous miscarriages, and other pathological conditions)

Folic acid (vitamin B9) is a water-soluble vitamin, necessary for the normal function of the cardiovascular and immune systems. Folic acid deficiency can cause megaloblastic anemia in adults and can increase the risk of neural tube defects during pregnancy.

This analysis enables the determination of predisposition to the above-mentioned pathological processes and enables timely initiation of correct therapy.

Indications for performing this analysis:

  • Increased levels of homocysteine in the blood, spontaneous abortion / fetal death, birth of a fetus with isolated defects of the nervous system, heart or urogenital tract, planned preparation for pregnancy, presence of cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, atherosclerosis or atherothrombosis, family history of cancer, receiving contraceptive therapy and chemotherapy.
